Satsang Programme in the Divine Presence of

Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj

Delhi: January 01, 2017

The year 2017 dawned on Sunday. The Mission’s Sunday congregation on January 1 was, therefore, held on the New Year Day as any other weekly Satsang on Sunday. The day also happened to the Birth Anniversary of Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji. Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj presided over the congregation which was attended by thousands of devotees from Delhi and Greater Delhi despite cold weather. Blessing the congregation, Her Holiness said:

“Saints, we are meeting today on the New Year Day. While we exchange greetings and express good wishes for each other, let us be grateful to the Almighty Nirankar for blessing us with a new occasion to make a new beginning in this New Year.

Saints, just now you heard that Baba Ji used to tell us that when we leave an old house and move into a new one, we do not carry the goods that are old or are of no use. Similarly, let us give up the old feelings of hatred, enmity and negativity etc. of the previous year and move forward.

I came across a line where it was written that New Year is like a new book. Let us begin writing it with subjects like love and humility and go on adding selfless service (Sewa), remembrance of God (Sumiran) and company of saints (Satsang). Let us go on writing on such topics only.

Saints, we shall be able to hold our heads high and take the Mission forward only if we work together and uplift each other. We have also to take Baba Ji’s message of Oneness forward.

Saints, today also happens to be the Birthday of Rajmata Ji who always blessed us all. She showed love and respect to the young and old alike. Let us all adopt her teachings in life and move forward.

May God bless us all with health and wisdom so that we move together while doing Sewa, Sumiran and Satsang. May each human being love another, may all support each other!”

Earlier, during the congregation most of the speakers remembered Nirankari Rajmata Ji and her teachings. Rev Narinder Singh (Mama Ji) first recalled what Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj generally used to say on New Year Day. He said, “Baba Ji told us that while shifting to a new house we usually leave behind the broken and useless old goods and try to decorate the new place with new objects. Similarly, we should also leave hatred, jealousy and enmity with the year that is passed and move into the New Year along with love, humility and tolerance.

Referring to Rajmata Ji, he said”, “She told a story to explain that it is very much possible that we are happy because others are happy. She said once during a picnic in Mussoorie, Baba Ji was playing volleyball with devotees. Everyone who could touch the ball felt blessed. A woman considered herself fortunate even while her eye was hurt and glasses broken. Baba Ji was throwing ball towards three small kids who had come in the centre. Naturally, when the children could not catch the ball, it reached the devotees standing behind them. Suddenly those devotees asked the children to move aside so that they get the ball direct. The children changed their place. Baba Ji, however, threw the ball towards children only. So, the devotees who asked them to get aside, themselves lost the opportunity to touch the ball which they were enjoying earlier when the children were standing in front of them. Now, they realized that they were being blessed because of the kids. So when we wish for the happiness of others, this brings happiness to us automatically.”

Rev Mama Ji said further said that today Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj is showering her motherly love on all of us and guiding us to take this Mission to the heights where Baba Ji wanted it to see. Let us obey her and thus win her heart. On this also he told an interesting story he had heard from Rajmata Ji – “A mother had only one eye with natural vision. The other eye was artificial. Her son did not like her face due to this shortcoming. So, he was not happy when she visited her school to meet her teachers. He always asked her not to come. The boy, however, completed his studies and joined an office. The mother went to see him there too. On this, the boy was so angry that he left home and started living alone. After some time when he came back, he found the house locked. The neighbours told him that his mother had died leaving behind a letter for him and they gave the letter to him. As he read it he learnt that the mother had donated one eye to him only to replace his eye which had been damaged beyond treatment.”

Rev A.S. Chowdhry, Sanyojak Faridabad recalled Baba Ji’s lesson that we must associate God-knowledge with our actions. They are like a bird who needs two wings at the same time in order to fly. God-knowledge and actions too are necessary if we want to touch the heights of devotion.

Rev Chowdhry Ji further said that Baba Ji always reminded us that being born as man is not enough; we have to prove it by behaving like man. Similarly, mere receiving God-knowledge is not enough to be called an enlightened saint (Brahmgyani), we have to adopt it in our actions to prove it.

Rev. Dr. Vijay Sharma Ji, Sanjoyak Lajpat Nagar, Delhi narrated several stories of blessings he personally received from Rajmata Ji and said that it was due to her benign blessings that he got his promotion from the post of Assistant Professor to that of Associate Professor.
