Satsang Programme in the Divine Presence of

Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj

Delhi: September 25, 2016

On Sunday, September 25, 2016, thousands of devotees from Delhi and adjoining areas attended the weekly congregation at Samagam Ground No.8, Burari Road, Delhi. Initially, Brig. P.S. Cheema Ji, graced the holy dais and blessed the devotees. Her Holiness Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj came towards the conclusion of the congregation and blessed the devotees still coming in lines for Namaskar. She, however, did not address the gathering. Instead, a video recording of a holy discourse by Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj was displayed where he said:

“Devotees always tread the path of Truth, relying on the Almighty God. They never give the same importance to worldly aspect as they give to God. They accept the will of God as their own. And since they give the Almighty the highest place in their life, it becomes much more beautiful, blissful for them as well as others. They look different and better than others. They work for the welfare of mankind, while those who do not give importance to God may harm the interests of others.

No doubt we live in this world like any other human being and carry out all our worldly responsibilities. But let us not allow worldly matters to overwhelm our life. Let us not start giving the same importance to the world as we give to the Almighty God. Let us not depart from Truth and leave the path of devotion. God is the creator of all and He alone is the power behind everything that goes on in the universe. He is the doer of everything. That is why saints always glorify Him and inspire others also towards the same.

Those who do not act for the welfare of others, rather harm them, are called unwise. They lack wisdom. In fact, it is our behaviour that shows whether we are wise or unwise. So, let us speak sweet language and have a pleasant behaviour. Let every thought, word and deed of ours impress others so much so that they like to follow our example. Let us follow the path of benevolence, goodwill and devotion. Let us not allow others to think that our life is meaningless, useless. Let us make life valuable, beautiful.

We have to control and guide our mind. It is our mind that makes us behave like Lord Rama, or Ravana. It is because of our mind that we become selfish or benevolent, we speak sweet or bitter language. Naturally, if we are able to control and guide our mind, we can improve our behaviour. It is like a horse. If bridled properly, the horse is quite useful, otherwise it may even harm us. So, let us not allow the mind to behave like an un-bridled horse and make us selfish and greedy.

And if we remember or concentrate on God, our mind will also not wander. The mind will take us away from the right path only when we ignore the Almighty and the lesson the True Master teaches. That is why saints advise us to live life that is for the welfare of all. Each thought, word and action should be beautiful so that we are a boon to the mankind, a blessing to the earth.

So, saints always remain conscious and careful about their mind. They keep on telling like a student or labourer to remain concentrated on their own task and not deviate from the same. This saves them from becoming selfish and greedy. They do not allow worldly considerations to weigh over their mind, they remain concentrated on devotion and on the welfare of all.

Saints, therefore, always advise us to keep our mind absorbed in Satsang, Sewa and Simran. Let it keep away from what has to be kept away. Let it not become weak, it must follow the direction that keeps it strong and steadfast. No doubt it is very difficult to keep the mind under control, on the right track. But saints believe in striving to accomplish what is difficult and that is what makes them great. There are many examples of such saints in every age who chose to accomplish what was difficult.

That is why through their message saints put this mirror before us. Let us realize whether we are following the path shown to us by saints, Gurus and prophets or not. They inspire us to remain steadfast on the path of Truth and devotion. Let us work for the welfare of all.”

Prior to the video, several leading preachers, poets and singers of the Mission expressed their views glorifying God as also the Satguru with whose grace we receive God-knowledge. Smt. Baljit Kaur, Zonal Incharge, Baroda, Gujarat said that with God-knowledge Satguru shows us the right path to lead our life. Earlier, we gave importance to worldly achievements in terms of money and material which being itself short-lived fails to provide lasting peace and happiness. But when, with Satguru’s kind benevolence, we got united with God, we learnt the right art of living. Since God is eternal, the happiness flowing from His divine virtues too is ever-lasting.

It is, therefore, imperative for the devotees who receive Brahm Gyan to follow the word and advice of Satguru. Today Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj is guiding our destiny. Let us obey each and every word that comes from her. That will certainly make our life happy and blissful.

Another prominent speaker of the day was Shri Dharam Verma Ji from Sant Nirankari Colony, Delhi. He said that there was a time when Baba Hardev Singh Ji devoted 30 to 45 minutes to explain a subject or topic. Today, however, Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj speaks for a few minutes only.

Obviously, she wants to impress upon us like Yuddhishra in Mahabharat that mere listening or reading is not enough. To learn something that is taught in real sense means to adopt the lesson in practical life. So, let us try to learn each line that is taught by Satguru Mata Ji by adopting it in our day-to-day life.

Addressing the congregation, Shri K R Chadha, Vice-Chairman, Central Planning and Advisory Board said that he has enjoyed every Samagam since 1948. The venue has been changing from Sant Nirankari Colony to India Gate, Raj Ghat and the Samagam has been held at the present venue near Nirankari Sarovar since 1986. The factor that determined the change was the constant expansion of the Mission and increase in the number of those coming for this family get-together i.e., Samagam. This was, in fact, what Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji cherished long back.

Shri Chadha said that every Samagam is an important occasion for the devotees to express their devotion through selfless service unto others. Everybody knows that Sewa brings happiness and prosperity in our life. Let us, therefore, contribute liberally and earn the blessings of Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj and Sadh Sangat.
