Satsang Programme in the Divine Presence of

Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj

Samagam Ground No. 8, Delhi: August 28, 2016

On Sunday, August 28, 2016, the weekly congregation in Delhi was organized again in Samagam Ground No.8 at Burari Road. Thousands of devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission from Delhi and surrounding areas participated. Briefly addressing them, Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj said:

“Saints, yesterday, I saw in office two lines written by Baba Ji with his own hands. It was written – ‘If only I saw souls instead of bodies in everybody, how different idea of beauty would it be! The beauty of body remains limited up to eyes, but the beauty of mind leaves its mark on the mind. And this beauty of the mind, and soul that is seen in you saints impresses all. This is because you have God-knowledge, you have realized God.

Saints, when we say ‘Dhan Nirankar’ to each other, we do not greet only body, we also greet the particle of God existing in it. And if we do it with full sense of faith, it is welcome, but if we do it as a ritual, as a custom that we have to follow, then we do have to improve ourselves.

Saints, all the saints sitting here are the saints Baba Ji loved. Let us not make a mistake to hurt the feelings of any of them.”

Earlier, addressing the congregation Rev Gobind Singh Ji, Chairman Central Planning and Advisory Board, who also graced the holy seat of Satguru before Her Holiness arrived, said that a devotee has only to obey what the True Master ordains. Once Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji wanted to know from the Members of the Executive Committee – Seven Stars, the ways to take the Mission forward. Everybody gave his suggestions. But when Pradhan Labh Singh Ji was asked the question, his reply was : “Shahenshah Ji, the only way to spread the Mission is that you go on telling us, guiding us, and we go on following the same. Let us not confine ourselves merely to listening to you”.

In this way, we have to attain the knowledge and act upon the same. Otherwise it would be like taking admission in the college, buying the books but not obeying the teacher. This will take us nowhere. So, let us receive God-knowledge from Satguru and then act upon what he ordains us to do. Let us all pray to Satguru Mata Ji so that we are able to follow what she says. Let us not suggest anything to her but obey what she says. Even otherwise, what can a drop suggest to the ocean?

Addressing the congregation, Shri Hem Chand Sirohi IAS (Retd) who has translated ‘Sampuran Avtar Bani’ into Shudh Hindi referred to a line therein where Satguru has been described as ‘Shabad’ or word and the devotee as ‘Surti’. He explained that Shabad means Nirankar. It is Satguru who bestows God-knowledge on the devotee. In case Satguru does not impart this knowledge to the devotee, the latter cannot equate him with word. Hence, Satguru is only Satguru to the devotee because of this word.

Now, the word of Satguru or God-knowledge has to be assimilated by the devotee. He must have the intelligence or wisdom (Surti) to understand the Satguru’s word or God-knowledge and lead life under this divine shelter. Only then he or she can be called a devotee. Once the devotee understands God-knowledge and seeks its shelter, which means the shelter of Satguru, he or she stands protected or guarded despite shortcomings or faults.

Let us pray to Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj to grant us the ability to assimilate God-knowledge and stay in shelter of Satguru. This will automatically establish the relation of ‘Shabad’ and ‘Surti’ between Satguru and the devotee.

Shri Virendra Bamne Ji from Mumbai said that the word ‘Satguru’ does not mean the body. It is the name of spiritual power which is known by its functions. So, today while Satguru has changed the body, the spirit and function remain the same. No wonder Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj wants to carry forward the same Mission that was established by Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji.

Satguru has always been known for His trait that he knows averything. We, a group of devotees from Mumbai were waiting for an opportunity to pay our obeisance at the holy feet of Satguru Mata Ji. While waiting for her, some of the members felt thirsty. But nobody was prepared to go out to take water and miss the chance to see Satguru Mata Ji who could come any moment. And when Her Holiness actually came out to bless us, the first thing she told the Sewadars was to serve water to all. It means Satguru continues to know everything even while the body has changed. Let us all obey Satguru Mata Ji, act upon her word without any hesitation.

A well-known Pracharak from Delhi, Shri KL Johar quoted an example from Shahenshah Ji’s time and said that in order to get rid of our physical and material problems we must do Sewa, Simran and Satsang.

Then, he narrated the way Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji and Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji spread this Mission, one in urban and the other in rural areas of the country without caring for facilities. They also had to face opposition but they and their devotees remained unshaken. Baba Hardev Singh Ji spread the Mission worldwide. Even those who are not a part of this Mission admired him. Let’s all pray that Satguru Mata Savinder Ji Maharaj also leads the Mission with the same zeal and fervour and we have the privilege to listen to her more and more.

Another prominent speaker of the day, Shri Sunil Bhatnagar from Malviya Nagar, Delhi quoted Sampuran Avtar Bani and said that a saint’s attitude remains the same whether the situation is favourable or not. He takes everything as a will of God and God just cannot do anything wrong since God is perfect, all His actions are also perfect whether it suits us or not.

To explain the statement, Shri Bhatnagar narrated a story about a saint had read in some book. The saint had an Arabian horse which was beautiful to look at and fast in speed. Somehow this information reached the king. The king came all the way to the place where saint was living. He liked the horse so much that he offered 100 gold coins (Ashrafis) and asked for the horse. The saint, however, politely declined to part with it saying that he had brought up the horse like his own child and he loved him very much. When the people in the village came to know, they told the saint that he had made a big mistake. He had missed an opportunity to become rich. But the saint said that it was alright.

After about 3-4 days, the horse disappeared. Now the villagers again laughed at the foolishness of the saint who had lost both the money and the horse. But the saint’s comments were the same that all that has happened is alright.

Interestingly, the horse returned after some days along with 3 other young horses. So, the saint became the owner of 4 horses instead of one. The villagers came and congratulated him for this bounty. The saint simply said, ‘It’s Alright’.

After few days, one of the horses hit the saint’s son who broke his leg. This was something very sad. So villagers came and expressed their concern. The saint again said that it was alright.

Suddenly, some employees of the king came to the village and wanted every young man to join the army. The king had ordered this because the kingdom was facing an invasion from another ruler. Now all the young boys had to join the army while the saint’s son escaped because his leg was broken. It was at this point that the villagers understood the saint who took every situation as right simply because it was the will of God and God being perfect, all His actions have to be perfect.

Shri Bhatnagar prayed to Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj to bless every one with ability to obey her word in letter and spirit.
