Satsang Programme in the Divine Presence of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj

Sant Nirankari Colony, Delhi: March 19, 2016

A special congregation was held on March 19, 2016, at Marriage Grounds, Nirankari Colony Delhi in the presence of the holy couple Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji to pay homage to the departed mother of Rev Dilbag Ji. His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj stated:

“You all have assembled here with feelings of respect for a noble person who always inspired her family towards Sewa and was fondly known as ‘Bee Ji’. During her long years, I got few opportunities to go to her village and so did Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji.

Every parent wishes great for their children and counsel them on the right path. Bee Ji was no different. She too discharged her responsibilities very well and encouraged her children on the path of noble service. I also met her in England, where she had moved with her husband, Shri Basant Singh. I observed that even there she was regularly inspiring young kids to never turn their back towards Satsang and formless Nirankar and remain engaged in Sewa. This is how she continued to inspire everyone she came across.

We just heard how everyone gets his share of ups and downs in life. She too lost her two sons, Lakhvir Ji and later Baldev Ji. Like any normal mother, full of love for her children, she was very much shocked by this. Anyone would feel dispirited at such a loss of her beloved ones but she was quickly back to her natural state and became playful with the young children once again. This is how she lived her life.

We have also seen how entire family is engaged in Sewa. Dalbir Ji just mentioned about their moving to Amritsar, getting connected to the congregation there and later shifting to Delhi. I have spent significant time with them, many a times overnight, when they were associated with the transport workshop, mending the engines etc. Even Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, who himself gave so much time to workshop, used to join us. Bee Ji also inspired many of her relatives to join this Sewa, which is so important on the path of devotion. We also see Dilbagh Ji engrossed in this Sewa round the clock. Baldev Ji had always been pleasing the congregation by his melodious rendition of devotional songs. Lakhbir Ji, whenever he met me, always spoke about his hockey academy in the village and used to feel delighted at my mere mention of Major Dhyan Chand, who used to come to train us in our school, YPS Patiala. This is how the entire family, including Bee Ji’s daughter Rani who is present amongst us, has always had high regard for humanity, and human values. They have always lived a benevolent life, connected to Satsang and remaining fearsome of God.

Enlightened parents desire such things for their children so that they remain steadfast, do not deviate or have weakness of faith, live by taking support of this formless, have noble feelings and become deserving recipients of goodwill and glory. This is what she did and remained conscious of this aspect.

Few days ago I happened to meet her in the courtyard of Nirankari Colony complex. Since she was on a wheel chair and unable to climb down the stairs. She even paid her obeisance from the upstairs. Later I met her upstairs, which made her cheerful. Then, I complemented her for being able to make so frequent trips to UK, as if it was closer than Punjab. Many young people nowadays would get exhausted at the mere mention of such travel. Such strong will power she had and may her entire family continue on the path of such noble task.

Talking about parents, Gurjit Ji just told me in the backyard that her father, even until recently would never use to go to Bee Ji unaccompanied lest she might scold him. Similarly, sensible people, even having become old themselves, visibly maintain and demonstrate a sense of respect for their older parents. May such love and respect continue to flourish.

Without getting into too many things, we must understand that this human life has been given to us to realise the truth, let our soul connect to the fundamental, over-soul because this is what brings about salvation. The soul, otherwise, remains in the bondages of birth and rebirth. God gives us this opportunity in human form so that we achieve this objective and earn the true wealth.

Anyone who is able to accomplish this task becomes triumphant and values his precious life as well. She, in whose regard we have assembled here, accomplished this task. She realised this eternal and omnipresent over-soul. He is present everywhere and after getting this enlightenment our soul becomes joyful. This is our foremost goal of this life.

Bee Ji completed this task. She possessed such qualities and completed the journey of her life by sticking to the principles of humanity. She always endeavoured to keep her family on this path. May the family continue on this path and glorify the magnificent legacy of their parents.”
